Objectives:
1. To foster awareness about, and solidarity around child rights situations, issues and initiatives nationally and internationally 2. To foster, monitor and evaluate the implementation of child rights as set out in international and national laws in particular the UN convention on the rights of the child 3. To seek, promote and implement the most effective means of securing the protection of child rights in concrete situations, from both a preventive and curative standpoint 4. To encourage co-operation and action nationally, regionally and internationally, to improve on mechanisms for protecting child rights
Activities:
1. Publishing information on all aspects of child rights through regular and adhoc publications 2. Undertaking action-oriented investgations, alone or jointly on serious national and global problems which are found to be inadequately documented e.g sexual exploitation of children and children in prisons 3. Taking direct action in response to situations involving the violation of rights of specific groups of children 4. Working for improved international standards in child rights sphere 5. Stimulating co-operation and action nationally, regionally and internationally to improve responses to child rights problems 6. Provides a legal and social support for those children whose rights have been violated.
